Impacts of future climate and land cover changes on landslide susceptibility: regional scale modelling in the Val d’Aran region (Pyrenees, Spain)

چکیده
It is widely accepted that future environmental changes will affect rainfall-induced shallow slides in high-mountain areas. In this study, the Val d’Aran region located Central Pyrenees was selected to analyze and quantify impacts of land use cover (LULC) climate on regional landslides susceptibility. We analyzed 26 models EURO-CORDEX database focussing rainfall conditions. The IDRISI TerrSet software suite used create LULC maps. These two inputs were individually a combined way defining 20 different scenarios. All these scenarios incorporated physically based stability model compute susceptibility results showed both conditions considerably change future. daily increase between 14 26% assuming return period 100 years. This intensification precipitation produce an overall decrease condition study area. Regarding prediction, forest area significantly increase, while particular grassland, but also shrubs decrease. As consequence, improves, because root strength higher than grassland shrubs. When we impacts, positive effect larger negative influence changes. Hence, when combining aspects scenarios, improve.

Changes in land cover and shallow landslide activity: a case study in the Spanish Pyrenees
The Pyrenees, like many other mountain areas in Europe, have experienced depopulation and land abandonment during the 20th Century. This has encouraged vegetation recovery in formerly occupied areas, including reforestation to promote woodland. The objective of this study is to analyse the effects of these changes on shallow landsliding, a process responsible for erosion and land degradation in...

Mercury is an important pollutant that can be transported globally due to its long lifetime in the atmosphere. Atmosphere-surface exchange is a major process affecting the cycling of mercury in the global environment and its impacts on food webs. We investigate the sensitivities of the air-surface exchange, atmospheric transport, and budget of mercury to projected 2000e2050 changes in climate a...

We studied the land-cover data used by the regional climate model REMO and the land surface model JSBACH, for Finland and surrounding areas. To date, the land-cover data determining REMO’s surface parameterisations have originated from the Global Ecosystem classification of the Global Land Cover Characteristics (GLCC-GEC) database. The same database has also been used as basis for prescribed pl...
